Sarah Ferguson Addresses the Meghan Markle Controversy

Duchess of York shares heartfelt message after friend’s criticism of
Meghan’s cooking show

Sarah Ferguson has made her first public statement following controversy over
Meghan Markle’s new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.

The Duchess of York shared a joyful video message, surprising her sister at an
animal rights event. In the clip, Sarah embraced her sister Jane Ferguson and
showed support for her charitable work.

“A surprise visit to @crufts to see my sister @janeferguson7 and her fabulous
@LickiMat and also to support Lady B’s charity the @nfrsa_official—National
Foundation for Retired Service Animals—for which I’m a proud Patron,” Sarah
wrote. “Nothing better than combining family time and championing deserving
animals who’ve served us so selflessly.”

Her statement comes shortly after British socialite and longtime friend Tamara
Beckwith strongly criticised Meghan, calling her “dreadful” and accusing her
of disrespecting the late Queen. Speaking to The Mail, Beckwith stated she had
no interest in watching Meghan’s cooking series.

“I don’t understand how you can disrespect my Queen, and there’s no way you
can convince me that wasn’t blatant disrespect,” Beckwith remarked. “It’s just
dreadful and she’s dreadful. I don’t want to be mean, but she’s just not my
people.”

While Sarah’s message did not address the controversy, her focus on family and
charity appears to shift attention away from the backlash surrounding Meghan’s
latest project.
