Cheeky moment at Buckingham Palace draws laughter—and comparisons to
Meghan Markle
Jamie Laing and his pregnant wife Sophie Habboo brought a touch of mischief to
Buckingham Palace when they performed the viral “Baby Mama” dance on the Grand
Staircase during a reception for The King’s Trust.
The event, celebrating the charity founded by King Charles in 1976, was also
attended by high-profile guests including George and Amal Clooney. Laing and
Habboo’s playful dance—captured in a light-hearted Instagram post—quickly
caught the attention of royal followers.
To the surprise of many, the official Royal Family Instagram account responded
with a cheeky: “We see you 👀😉,” while The King’s Trust chimed in, “All of
our attendees are very well behaved 😂😉.”
A Palace aide confirmed no offence was taken, saying the moment was viewed as
a bit of fun, though gently adding it’s not behaviour they would encourage
from all guests.
Interestingly, the dance drew comparisons to a past viral clip of Meghan
Markle dancing to the same track during her pregnancy—prompting social media
users to remark on the contrasting public reactions.
Despite the online chatter, many praised the Palace for its good-natured
response, showing a more relaxed side of royal protocol.
