Royal women show solidarity as they meet with patients and speak on
recovery journeys
On July 2, Queen Camilla and Princess Catherine offered powerful moments of
support and solidarity as they stepped out separately to meet cancer patients
and highlight recovery efforts.
Queen Camilla visited Maggie’s Centre in Fife, Scotland—a cancer support
charity where she serves as president. There, she met with staff, volunteers,
and patients, including Gregor Forbes, 37, who received a stage three Hodgkin
lymphoma diagnosis just a week before his son was born. Her visit followed a
morning appearance with King Charles to mark the 100th anniversary of
Kirkcaldy’s War Memorial, and she is later expected to host a reception for
the Queen’s Nursing Institute of Scotland at Holyroodhouse.
On the same day, Catherine made a heartfelt return to public duty with a visit
to the RHS Wellbeing Garden at Colchester Hospital in Essex. Speaking candidly
about her cancer recovery, she admitted the aftermath of treatment has been
anything but easy.

“You put on a sort of brave face… but actually, the phase afterwards is
really, really difficult,” she shared with those at the centre. “It’s a
rollercoaster… You go through hard times.”
The Princess of Wales’ appearance—her first in nearly two weeks—offered
reassurance to supporters following her unexpected absence from Royal Ascot.
Her openness about the emotional toll of recovery resonated deeply, offering
comfort to others navigating similar health battles.
