Princess of Wales takes cautious approach after skipping Royal Ascot
Princess Catherine is prioritising her health as she continues her slow and
thoughtful return to royal life, with insiders revealing she has become “quite
strict” about which engagements she takes on following her cancer diagnosis.
According to the Daily Mail, the Princess of Wales is carefully managing her
schedule, making deliberate choices about what appearances are truly necessary
as she focuses on long-term recovery.
Her absence from Royal Ascot sparked renewed concern among royal watchers,
particularly after Kensington Palace clarified that it was due to an
“administrative error.” Still, the unexpected change drew attention to
Catherine’s evolving approach to public duties.
“She’s quite strict now at working out what she needs to be at and what she
doesn’t,” a source shared, noting that while Catherine may be stepping back
from the spotlight, she remains highly active behind the scenes. “She is very
hands-on with the team in the office… That’s a lifelong commitment for HRH.”
In the lead-up to Ascot, Catherine had already made several public
appearances, including Trooping the Colour, Garter Day, and the opening of a
V&A exhibition—each one a carefully chosen moment in her steady return.
The Princess’s approach reflects a new phase: one of balance, caution, and
quiet resilience as she continues to prioritise both her role in the monarchy
and her personal well-being.
