Prince William Comes to Terms with the Loss of His Trusted Companion, Harry

Future King Reshapes Inner Circle, Excludes Brother from Key Role Amid Deepening Royal Rift

As Prince William prepares for his eventual reign, he is reportedly coming to terms with a significant emotional and strategic loss—his brother, once a trusted ‘wingman’, no longer part of his future plans.

Royal expert Jennie Bond told The Mirror that the Prince of Wales, like his father King Charles, is embracing a streamlined monarchy. In that vision, the Duke of Sussex plays no role. “I don’t think Harry figures in William’s plans at all,” Bond said, noting that the fracture between the brothers has led to the end of what could have been a vital royal partnership.

Once seen as William’s closest confidant, Harry was expected to support his brother during the weighty transition to kingship, much like Princess Anne now supports King Charles. “It is a great loss for William,” Bond added, “but one which I think he has now accepted.”

Harry’s departure from royal duties in 2020, along with the controversies that followed, has severely damaged trust between him and the royal household. As William redefines his inner circle for the good of the monarchy, it appears that bond—with its deep personal and professional value—has become another casualty of the ongoing feud.
