Prince William attends a football match with a friend of Harry’s amidst family tension

Duke of Sussex faces fresh setback as royals remain unresponsive to
reconciliation efforts

Prince William appeared alongside Hugh Grosvenor—Prince Harry’s longtime
friend and godfather to Prince George—at a high-profile football match, even
as tensions between the Sussexes and the royal family continue to escalate.

The Prince of Wales, joined by his eldest son, Prince George, was photographed
at Villa Park on Tuesday, supporting Aston Villa in their Champions League
quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain. Grosvenor, also known as the Duke
of Westminster, attended the event with his wife Olivia, marking a rare public
outing for the couple after recently announcing they are expecting their first
child.

The outing drew attention not only for the show of camaraderie between William
and Grosvenor but also for its timing. Reports suggest that Harry’s attempts
to reconnect with his family remain unanswered, and he is being kept at a
distance regarding updates on King Charles’s health.

According to People, a Palace insider revealed that there has been no progress
in mending the rift, stating, “Nothing has changed,” and confirming the
absence of any “rapprochement” between Harry and senior royals.

Despite Harry’s continued efforts to reach out, both King Charles and Prince
William reportedly remain distant, reinforcing the deepening divide within the
royal family.
