Palace Clears Up Royal Ascot Mix-Up as Prince of Wales Prepares for Solo
Appearances
As Princess Catherine continues to prioritise her health and recovery, Prince
William is moving forward with a packed schedule of solo engagements.
Kensington Palace has confirmed that the Prince of Wales will take part in two
key events during London Climate Action Week, which runs from June 21 to 29.
Representing both The Earthshot Prize and the United for Wildlife programme
under the Royal Foundation, William is set to attend appearances on June 24
and June 26.
On June 24, the future king will participate in a Leading with Impact event in
the City of London. The panel discussion, moderated by Earthshot ambassador
Robert Irwin and Bloomberg anchor Francine Lacqua, will feature high-profile
names including London Mayor Sadiq Khan and Rio de Janeiro’s Mayor Eduardo
Paes.
Then, on June 26, William will host a roundtable at St James’s Palace, focused
on the vital role of Indigenous Peoples in protecting the environment—a
conversation viewed as pivotal ahead of COP30.
This announcement follows a minor miscommunication regarding Princess
Catherine’s expected attendance at Royal Ascot earlier this week. While her
name initially appeared on the official attendance list, she did not join
Prince William at the event. Palace officials later clarified that the
inclusion of her name was an error, as she had not planned to attend.
With the Princess continuing to rest and recover out of the public eye, Prince
William is once again taking centre stage—highlighting his growing leadership
role and commitment to causes shaping the future of the monarchy.
