Prince Harry Advised Before Potential Royal Peace Talks with King Charles

Duke of Sussex urged to proceed carefully as reconciliation efforts intensify behind closed doors

Prince Harry has been cautioned to tread carefully as behind-the-scenes talks aimed at mending his relationship with King Charles gather momentum.

According to The Mail, the Duke of Sussex’s chief of staff Meredith Maines and UK spokesperson Liam Maguire recently met with Tobyn Andreae, a senior aide to the King, sparking speculation of a possible peace summit.

While the move signals a step toward reconciliation, former royal butler Grant Harrold has advised Harry to approach the situation delicately, warning that the rift with his father remains deeply strained.

Speaking to Express, Harrold described the secret meeting as a positive development, but stressed that it must be handled with caution. “It’s not just them picking up the phone,” he noted. “It’s so damaged it’s got to be done in a more diplomatic and careful way, so there are no misunderstandings.”

He added that the initiative—whether sparked by the royal households or the family members themselves—shows how “complicated” the current dynamic is.

Harrold suggested that Harry, as a father and son, may be attempting to rebuild trust with the monarch. “He said his father won’t speak to him, so maybe this is their way of trying to work through that.”

As talks continue, royal observers remain watchful of whether this quiet step will lead to a meaningful breakthrough—or another missed opportunity.
