Canadian Prime Minister Praises Duke as Queen Camilla Befriends His
A-Lister Pal
Harry has received a wave of support from notable figures after achieving a
significant milestone, despite a reported snub from Queen Camilla.
The Duke of Sussex, who shares a strained relationship with the royal
family—especially his stepmother—was celebrated for the successful conclusion
of the Invictus Games in Canada. The closing ceremony drew a crowd of 12,000
people, who gave Harry a standing ovation for his dedication to the adaptive
sporting event he founded in 2014 through the Royal Foundation.
Notably, there was no public recognition from the royal family for the
achievement. However, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attended the
event and praised Harry’s commitment.
“You are the one who turned this incredible idea into a reality,” Trudeau
said. “I can testify to the energy, dedication, and commitment this man has to
you and to this ideal.”
Meanwhile, Queen Camilla hosted a glamorous dinner at Buckingham Palace to
celebrate the National Theatre, where she was seen sharing a light-hearted
moment with James Corden, a close friend of Harry. The interaction was
perceived by some as a subtle snub, given Harry’s absence and the timing of
the event.
Despite this, Harry continued to receive support from influential figures. On
Monday, Trudeau took to Instagram to further commend the Duke and the Invictus
Games:
“They’ve faced challenges most of us can’t imagine, and they keep pushing
forward. That’s what the Invictus Games are all about,” Trudeau wrote in both
English and French. “These competitors are unstoppable, and Prince Harry and I
are proud to cheer them on.”
The Duke’s determination and widespread support highlight his growing
influence on the global stage, even as tensions with the royal family persist.
