Duke of Sussex honours tradition and shares message of unity amid family
tensions
Prince Harry offered a heartfelt gesture toward King Charles on Anzac Day,
honouring a key royal tradition with a moving tribute through his Invictus
Games Foundation.
Despite stepping back from royal duties, the Duke of Sussex showed his
enduring respect for royal values, which some view as a positive step amid the
ongoing family rift.
In a statement shared alongside photos of Invictus members from Australia and
New Zealand, Harry’s team wrote:
“On Anzac Day, we remember Australians & New Zealanders who have served in
war, conflict & peacekeeping operations around the world. We are grateful
to have Australia and New Zealand as members of the Invictus Community of
Nations as we heal together.”
The tribute closely followed King Charles’ own Anzac Day message, where the
monarch paid homage to the sacrifices of Australians and New Zealanders. King
Charles also sent Duchess Sophie to lay a wreath at the Australian War
Memorial in Hyde Park Corner, London.
Harry’s thoughtful recognition of Anzac Day traditions reflects a continued
bond with the royal family’s values and offered a subtle but meaningful nod to
his ailing father during a pivotal time.
