Duke of Sussex looks toward a longer stay away from the US
The Duke of Sussex is weighing up plans for a longer spell in the UK, creating some distance from the United States and from Los Angeles, the city Meghan Markle considers her hometown. According to a source who spoke with Closer magazine, he has been feeling deeply homesick, which is pushing him to make the most of any trip he can arrange across the Atlantic.
The insider said Harry is waiting for confirmation that he can visit King Charles at Christmas and feels strongly about spending as much time as he can with his father. His hopes also stretch to Meghan Markle and their children, who have not spent any meaningful period in the UK since their birth.
The source added that he finds Hollywood lonely and unfamiliar at the moment and wants the chance to see his wider family and reconnect with old friends. This is why he is considering extending his next visit and has even looked at keeping much of December free, although he cannot make definite plans until he receives the go-ahead.
This follows his private tea with King Charles earlier this year, held during a visit connected to his charitable work. It was the first substantial meeting between them in 19 months and lasted around an hour, during which they shared photos and caught up in a more personal way.
