Royal expert brands Sussexes “boring and unprofitable” while Wales family takes lead role in State Visit
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing renewed criticism and what appears to be a significant royal snub, as King Charles places his confidence firmly in Prince William and Princess Kate to represent the monarchy during the high-profile State Visit of French President Emmanuel Macron.
The Prince and Princess of Wales will lead the welcome for President Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron, playing a central role in the diplomatic engagement with the King’s full support. The move highlights the Waleses’ growing prominence in the royal fold, particularly as Princess Kate continues her gradual return to public life.
Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly dealing with another blow to their public image. Royal commentator Esther Krakue told The Sun that the couple’s value to streaming giants like Netflix has sharply declined, branding them “boring and unprofitable.”
“I think Netflix are going to have to swallow the fact that they’ve invested in the world’s most boring and unprofitable couple,” Krakue remarked, adding, “Spotify realised quite early on and got out early.”
The criticism extended to Meghan’s lifestyle brand As Ever, which has received mixed responses. While the products have consistently sold out quickly, some consumers and commentators have voiced frustration over limited availability and unclear messaging. Krakue argued that the project lacked true personal investment, saying, “Who cares if it ever fails? It wasn’t exactly a passion project.”
Amid this, reports suggest Prince Harry is feeling overshadowed by Meghan’s recent ventures and frustrated about his own lack of substantial professional progress.
In stark contrast, William and Kate’s prominent role in the French State Visit underscores their continued rise within the royal hierarchy—with the King’s blessing—while Harry and Meghan’s influence appears to be waning on both sides of the Atlantic.
