Exiled Duke Attends Private Garter Day Events Amid Ongoing Royal

Prince Andrew made a discreet appearance at Windsor Castle on Monday, June 16,
for this year’s Garter Day ceremony, but was once again barred from taking
part in the public procession.
According to GB News, the Duke of York drove himself to the royal residence,
where he attended private portions of the ceremony — including the investiture
and a luncheon — away from public scrutiny. It marked the fourth consecutive
year he has been excluded from the traditional walk alongside King Charles and
the Prince of Wales.
An insider speaking to the Express described his limited involvement as a
“compromise,” allowing Andrew to be present without attracting public
attention.
Though he remains a Garter Knight, the disgraced Duke has not worn ceremonial
robes or joined the formal procession since 2022, following the late Queen
Elizabeth II’s final Garter Day.
The King and Prince William have reportedly continued efforts to limit
Andrew’s presence at official events after his links to convicted sex offender
Jeffrey Epstein emerged.
The Garter Day ceremony, established by King Edward III in 1348, is an annual
tradition held at Windsor, featuring a service at St George’s Chapel followed
by a public parade of senior royals around the castle grounds.
