Duchess of Sussex highlights her charity work as Duke announces
resignation
Meghan Markle has shared a positive message highlighting her ongoing
charitable efforts, just hours after Harry’s unexpected resignation from
Sentebale became public.
The Duke of Sussex announced he was stepping down as patron of Sentebale, a
charity he co-founded in 2006 to support those affected by HIV and AIDS in
Lesotho and Botswana, due to an internal governance dispute.
Amid this surprising news, Meghan posted on Instagram praising the Alliance of
Moms charity. “Proudly supporting @allianceofmoms and the powerful work they
do to support moms and their children,” she wrote, alongside a photo of
herself with her dog. She specifically commended founder Kelly McKee Zajfen’s
Mother’s Day campaign supporting pregnant youth in LA’s foster care system.
Although Harry expressed deep sadness over leaving the charity established in
honour of his late mother, Princess Diana, Meghan’s upbeat post highlighted
her separate philanthropic activities, drawing attention to their differing
public responses during the sensitive time.
