Monarch highlights strength and stability as Palace shares new royal
update
King Charles has made a bold public statement with his latest royal
engagement, as tensions with Harry show little sign of easing.
On 6 June, Buckingham Palace released images of the King during his visit to
the Royal Regiment of Artillery in Larkhill, where he appeared healthy and
engaged despite ongoing cancer treatment and a deepening family rift.
“The King has visited the Royal Regiment of Artillery in Larkhill, meeting
military personnel and their families from the 21 regiments that form the
Royal Regiment,” read a Palace statement.
“His Majesty also heard about the Regiment’s training and equipment — before
being invited to fire a L118 Light Gun himself!”
To mark the occasion, the King was presented with an engraved 105mm cartridge
fired during Their Majesties’ Coronation — commemorating his first visit as
Captain General.
The monarch’s confident display comes as hopes of reconciliation with the
Sussexes continue to fade. Reports suggest relations have deteriorated further
following Harry’s recent BBC interview and revelations that he sought advice
from his uncle Earl Spencer about potentially changing his royal surname — a
move said to have caused deep hurt to the King.
