Royal family hopes Duchess’s Netflix venture will lead to independence
King Charles has reportedly taken a strategic approach to Meghan Markle’s
latest career move, seeing it as a way to safeguard the royal family’s
reputation.
The Duchess of Sussex has been making headlines since announcing her
much-anticipated Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. On January 2, she unveiled
the first official trailer on Instagram, sharing her excitement for the
lifestyle and cooking show.
“I have been so excited to share this with you! I hope you love the show as
much as I loved making it,” she wrote, thanking Netflix and her production
team for their support.
Royal commentator Richard Eden revealed in The Daily Mail that senior royals
are privately hoping for the show’s success, believing it could allow Meghan
and Harry to focus on independent projects rather than their royal ties.
“Courtiers tell me that members of the royal family actually hope the American
duchess’s eight-part series will be a hit when it is released,” he noted.
“Everyone wants it to be a success. And that’s because, if it is, she and
Harry won’t need to exploit their royal connections again,” Eden added.
With the series set to launch soon, insiders suggest its success could help
reshape Meghan’s public image while reducing tensions between the Sussexes and
the royal family.
