Royal family announces summer showcase following Easter reunion marked by
Duke of York’s return
King Charles has made a key decision regarding Buckingham Palace, announcing a
new public exhibition to be held in the State Rooms this summer—just days
after a private meeting with Prince Andrew and a high-profile Easter reunion
with senior royals.
In a joint post with the Royal Collection Trust, the Royal Family’s official
Instagram account unveiled the upcoming exhibition, The King’s Tour Artists,
which will feature more than 70 works from the monarch’s personal collection.
“This summer, The King’s Tour Artists, a new exhibition featuring over 70
works of art from His Majesty’s own collection, will be on display for
visitors to the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace,” read the official
statement.
The exhibition celebrates a unique royal tradition, where for the past four
decades, a personally selected artist has accompanied the King on overseas
tours to create artworks inspired by the journey. An accompanying publication,
The Art of Royal Travel: Journeys with The King, will delve further into this
creative legacy.
The announcement follows Prince Andrew’s unexpected appearance alongside King
Charles and other senior royals at the Easter Sunday service—a move that drew
public attention given the Duke of York’s controversial past and continued
scrutiny.
While Buckingham Palace has not commented on their private discussions, the
timing of the exhibition’s announcement suggests a renewed royal focus on
cultural outreach and tradition, even as internal family dynamics remain under
