King Charles Orders Special Tribute Before Trooping the Colour

Royals to wear black armbands and observe silence in honour of Air India
crash victims

Ahead of the 2025 Trooping the Colour, King Charles has reportedly instructed
Prince William, Princess Catherine, and other senior members of the royal
family to wear black armbands as a mark of respect for the victims of the
recent Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad.

According to the BBC, the monarch also requested a minute’s silence following
his inspection of the parade, which takes place today, June 14, in London.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson confirmed the King’s request, noting the
tribute will honour “the lives lost, the families in mourning and all the
communities affected by this awful tragedy.”

Earlier this week, King Charles issued a deeply emotional statement,
expressing shock and grief over the disaster that claimed hundreds of lives.

“My wife and I have been desperately shocked by the terrible events in
Ahmedabad this morning,” the King wrote. “Our special prayers and deepest
possible sympathy are with the families and friends of all those affected by
this appallingly tragic incident across so many nations.”

The monarch also praised the emergency services for their “heroic efforts”
during what he described as an unimaginably traumatic time.
