King Charles Feels ‘Betrayed’ Following Prince Harry’s Emotional BBC Disclosure

Duke’s Comment on Monarch’s Health Sparks Speculation and Royal Disappointment

King Charles is reportedly grappling with a sense of betrayal following Prince Harry’s revealing BBC interview, in which the Duke of Sussex made a deeply personal remark about his father’s health, intensifying already strained family tensions.

Speaking candidly, Harry admitted he was unsure “how long [his] father had left to live,” a comment that has triggered widespread concern and speculation about the King’s condition as he continues to receive treatment following his cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

The interview aired shortly after Harry’s court loss in his long-running UK security case, in which he expressed being “devastated” by the outcome. However, it was his unexpected remark about his father’s health that drew sharp reactions—including from those once close to the royals.

Former royal butler Grant Harrold told GB News the King would almost certainly feel blindsided: “This is confidential information. And Harry had to know that using those words would open up a flood of speculation.”

Reflecting on his own experience with cancer in the family, Harrold added, “These are deeply private matters. The Palace would never publicly discuss this, and for good reason.”

The former aide also expressed confusion about Harry’s motives, saying, “I just don’t understand what he’s trying to achieve anymore. I knew how close he once was with his family—this feels like a complete reversal.”

As Buckingham Palace remains silent on the matter, royal watchers say the Duke’s comments have made any path to reconciliation even more uncertain—leaving the King, once again, wearing a crown burdened by family fracture.
