Royal couple share heartfelt tribute to creativity and education in the
arts
King Charles and Queen Camilla have marked the silver jubilee of the Royal
Drawing School, a cause close to their hearts, with a special appearance and
message.
Buckingham Palace released footage of the monarchs enjoying an exclusive
preview of the school’s latest exhibition, The Power of Drawing, ahead of its
official opening. Founded in 2000 by Charles and artist Catherine Goodman, the
school supports emerging and established creatives across disciplines, from
painting and design to film and architecture.
The new exhibition highlights the enduring importance of drawing in
contemporary art, showcasing works from renowned artists including David
Hockney and Tracey Emin, as well as pieces from 25 alumni spanning the past
quarter-century.
King Charles, a dedicated painter and long-time supporter of arts education,
has frequently visited the school over the years. Queen Camilla, known for her
passion for literature and the arts, accompanied him in honouring the
milestone achievement.
