Royal couple spark fresh speculation over future move Down Under
Zara and Mike Tindall have once again delighted fans with a glimpse into their
life in Australia, as they shared an upbeat update from Sydney amid growing
speculation about a potential permanent relocation. Among those showing quiet
support was Princess Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who left a
subtle but telling social media response.
Currently enjoying time in Australia, Zara and Mike attended the 2025 State of
Origin rugby league decider, where Queensland triumphed over New South Wales.
The couple posted a photo carousel from the match, capturing the atmosphere
and their excitement at being part of the iconic sporting event.
“So so so good to be at the ‘Decider’ of #stateoforigin2025,” Mike captioned
the post. “Incredible atmosphere and fair play to the Maroons… Was amazing to
be in the changing rooms and see everything that makes rugby (both codes) an
incredible sport. #family #comeraderie #friendship #goodtimes.”
Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, husband of Zara’s close cousin Princess Beatrice, was
quick to engage with the post, giving it a ‘like’ — a small but notable
gesture of support amid ongoing headlines surrounding the Tindalls’ deepening
ties to Australia.
Zara, who shares a close bond with Beatrice, has previously spoken about her
and Mike’s strong connection to the country. “We have always loved Australia,
and it is like a home from home for us,” she said, adding that their regular
visits to Queensland have become a cherished tradition.
When asked about a potential permanent move, Zara admitted it’s not off the
table: “Probably not while I’m still competing. It would be a little bit hard
commuting. But after that… yes, I think if an opportunity came up we’d
definitely think about it.”
As the Tindalls continue to enjoy time in their favourite corner of the
Commonwealth, the possibility of them one day calling Australia home remains a
topic of quiet interest — both within royal circles and among their global fan
base.
