Heartwarming moment shared from ballet school visit amid Princess of
Wales’ continued recovery
With the Princess of Wales currently taking time away from public duties
during her cancer remission, Duchess Sophie has been representing the royal
family at recent engagements — including a touching visit to the Central
School of Ballet.
Buckingham Palace released a new video via the royal family’s official
Instagram account, showing the Duchess of Edinburgh observing student
rehearsals and meeting with staff and performers. The caption read: “‘En
pointe’ performances at the Central School of Ballet!” — a nod to the elegant
and emotional performances she witnessed.
As Patron of the school since 2003, the Duchess toured the Countess of Wessex
Studios, named in her honor to recognise her long-standing support. During the
visit, she also explored the Wardrobe Area and engaged warmly with students
preparing for their summer performance.
The outing comes shortly after Catherine, Princess of Wales, pulled out of
Royal Ascot 2025 at the last moment. A palace spokesperson confirmed Sophie’s
continuing royal engagements, offering a quiet reassurance as Catherine
remains focused on recovery and continues to contribute behind the scenes.
Duchess Sophie’s visible presence has been seen by many as a steady and
compassionate force, stepping forward during this period of transition for the
royal family.
