Monarch resumes royal duties with high-profile meeting just one day after
return from Royal Week
King Charles III wasted no time returning to work after wrapping up his
week-long visit to Scotland. On Friday, July 4, just a day after returning
home, the monarch hosted His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman at
Windsor Castle.
The visit marked the King’s first official engagement following Royal Week,
which he spent touring Scotland alongside Queen Camilla. The two leaders
reunited inside the historic castle for an afternoon of tea and
conversation—underscoring both their diplomatic relationship and personal
rapport.
The royal family’s official Instagram account confirmed the meeting, posting a
photograph of King Charles and the Sultan walking through Windsor’s grand
interiors. “The Sultan of Oman visited The King at Windsor Castle this
afternoon and remained to tea,” the caption read.
While the visit was part of the Sultan’s private trip to the UK, the meeting
had meaningful undertones. According to Omani news sources, the two monarchs
discussed the long-standing ties between their nations and explored future
areas of cooperation.
King Charles has visited Oman several times over the years and welcomed Sultan
Haitham to his coronation in 2023. Their latest meeting reflects a continued
commitment to strengthening UK-Oman relations, while also highlighting the
enduring friendship they’ve cultivated over time.
