Young royal may be stunned as her father meets the Lionesses without her
Princess Charlotte, known for her growing love of football, may have been
caught off guard by her father Prince William’s unexpected visit to the
England Women’s national team just days before the UEFA Women’s Euros kicks
off.
On Monday, the Prince of Wales, patron of the Football Association, visited
St. George’s Park to personally wish the Lionesses good luck ahead of their
Euro 2025 campaign. The visit, filled with excitement and high-profile
engagement, included chats with Head Coach Sarina Wiegman, time with players
and their families, and even a football session with junior girls’ teams
inspired by the Lionesses’ 2022 triumph.

What made the visit more surprising was William’s deep family connection to
the team—especially through Princess Charlotte. In 2023, Charlotte and her
father shared a heartwarming video message to cheer on the Lionesses during
the Women’s World Cup, showcasing the young royal’s genuine enthusiasm for the
sport.
Though Charlotte was not present for the latest visit, the unannounced
appearance might come as a playful tease from William, who clearly knows his
daughter is one of the team’s biggest young fans. As the Lionesses gear up to
face France on July 5, all eyes are now on whether Charlotte will get a chance
to join her dad at a match later in the tournament.
