Body language expert suggests Duchess may have shown hidden discomfort during interview
A brief moment in a recent interview between Meghan Markle and Skims co-founder Emma Grede has sparked speculation after a body language expert claimed the Duchess of Sussex may have shown subtle signs of discomfort when her close friend Serena Williams was praised.
The conversation took a turn when Meghan began, “My dear friend, Serena, as you know…” only to be interrupted by Grede, who quickly highlighted Serena’s successful ventures. Meghan, a mother of two, responded with her eyes closed and a short “Oh yeah.”
According to body language expert Jesús Enrique Rosas, the Duchess’s reaction appeared “extremely condescending,” suggesting a “hint of contempt” in her facial expression. He pointed out that the left corner of her mouth raised slightly higher than the right, which he interpreted as a possible sign of negative emotion.
Despite these remarks, Meghan and Serena have enjoyed a longstanding friendship since first meeting at the 2010 Super Bowl. They have consistently supported each other both personally and professionally.
Serena was the inaugural guest on Meghan’s Archetypes podcast and has publicly defended the Duchess on several occasions, including after her interview with Oprah Winfrey. More recently, Serena was seen laughing and chatting with Meghan at Prince Harry’s Netflix polo event.
The tennis legend has described Meghan as a “selfless friend” who “teaches me every day what it means to be truly noble,” underscoring the deep bond between the two women despite the recent claims.
