King Charles and David Beckham unite for a grand royal celebration

Former footballer supports monarch at King’s Foundation event amid
knighthood speculation

David Beckham joined King Charles at the King’s Foundation’s 35th anniversary
ceremony this week, just days before reports suggest he is poised to receive a
long-anticipated knighthood.

The former football star was among a star-studded guest list at St James’s
Palace, which included Kate Winslet, Meryl Streep, and Penny Lancaster.

During the event, King Charles personally presented several honours, including
the King Charles III Harmony Award, which was awarded to Nobel Peace Prize
winner Professor Muhammad Yunus.

According to The Sun, Beckham is expected to be knighted by the monarch this
Friday — an honour that has been the subject of speculation for several years.

The ceremony, attended by around 200 guests, celebrated remarkable
achievements in sustainability, traditional craftsmanship, and environmental
education. Since its founding 35 years ago by the King, the charity has
trained over 115,000 students in heritage skills and eco-conscious practices,
attracted more than 2.5 million visitors to its sites across the UK, and
positively impacted more than 500,000 lives through sustainable urban
development projects.

Guests also explored interactive exhibits showcasing the Foundation’s work in
areas such as furniture making, millinery, and embroidery.

Professor Yunus was honoured for his enduring commitment to the King’s Harmony
philosophy — a vision promoting sustainability and the integration of nature
into all aspects of society.

Additionally, Yasmeen Lari, Pakistan’s first female architect, received the
Innovation in Practice Award. She was recognised for her humanitarian work
with the Heritage Foundation of Pakistan, which focuses on socially conscious
and sustainable architecture.
