Harry Confirms Participation in 2027 Invictus Games in UK Despite Tensions within Royal Family

Duke of Sussex reveals major event dates following King Charles’ emotional
appearance

Prince Harry has officially confirmed plans to return to the UK as he revealed
key details for the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.

On June 10, the Duke of Sussex’s team announced that the much-anticipated
event will run from July 10 to July 17, 2027. The update was shared on the
Invictus Games’ official Instagram account.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for 10 July, with the closing ceremony set
for 17 July. According to the statement, this edition will feature 23 sports,
with new additions such as e-sport, pickleball, and laser run. “This will be a
Games to remember,” the statement promised, “bringing fresh energy to the
Invictus spirit.”

The announcement comes as tensions remain high between Harry and the royal
family. It follows an emotional moment for King Charles, who recently attended
the Ceremony of the Keys at Lancaster Castle on 9 June — a royal tradition he
has upheld for years.

During the King’s visit, both supporters and anti-monarchists gathered. A
royal well-wisher notably confronted Republic CEO Graham Smith in a show of
solidarity with the cancer-stricken monarch.
