Prince William fulfills Princess Diana’s prediction, becomes the most adored member of the royal family.

More than 25 years after her passing, Diana’s belief in her son’s future
as a people’s prince rings true as William tops popularity polls

Princess Diana’s faith in her son’s future impact on the monarchy has come
full circle.

Decades ago, the late royal confided in former BBC correspondent Jennie Bond,
expressing her confidence in William’s potential. “William’s alright. The
country is very lucky to have William,” she told Bond — a statement that now
appears prophetic.

According to a new YouGov poll, 75 percent of Britons view the Prince of Wales
favourably, making him the most popular royal in the country.

“Clearly, William is doing something very right,” said Bond, crediting his
relatable, down-to-earth nature and modern approach to royal duties. “Even the
way he talks is different to previous generations… not overly posh. He dresses
well, but is quite often wearing jeans and trainers.”

Bond also highlighted William’s willingness to engage with the public —
whether by posing for selfies or helping fans with their phones — as key to
his enduring appeal.

While Catherine closely follows him in popularity, Bond believes William’s
focus on keeping the monarchy relevant and connected to the people plays a
major role in his widespread approval.

“Opinion polls are some sort of gauge as to whether the royals are connecting
with people,” she said. “William himself has said that it is vital for the
monarchy to stay relevant and in touch.”
