Duchess marks wedding anniversary with intimate glimpse into royal past
Meghan Markle has unveiled a rare and intimate photo from her engagement to
Prince Harry, offering fans a fresh look at a cherished moment from the
couple’s royal beginnings.
Released on May 19 to celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary, the
previously unseen image was part of a personal photo collection shared on
Meghan’s Instagram. Among over 40 photos in the mood board, one stood out — a
candid shot from the couple’s 2017 engagement shoot, captured by royal
photographer Alexi Lubomirski.
The image features Meghan in a sleek, icy blue Roland Mouret gown, the same
‘Lockton’ crepe design she wore during the couple’s official portraits. In the
photo, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are seen embracing tenderly, with
Meghan’s Princess Diana-inspired engagement ring glinting in the light.
Though the image had previously appeared briefly in the background of Queen
Elizabeth II’s private audience room, this marks the first time it’s been
shared publicly by the couple.
Now living in Montecito, California, with their children Prince Archie and
Princess Lilibet, Meghan and Harry continue to share personal milestones —
offering rare glimpses into their life both before and after stepping back
from royal duties in 2020.
