Buckingham Palace shares heartfelt message as Prince and Princess of Wales
lead royal duties
King Charles has shared a warm message recognising Prince William and Princess
Catherine after the couple stepped in on his behalf at a Buckingham Palace
garden party, continuing their growing role at the forefront of royal life.
The Prince and Princess of Wales led the event alongside senior royals,
including the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the Duke and Duchess of
Gloucester, while the King continues his recovery from cancer.
Shortly after the event, Buckingham Palace released official photos and a
statement praising the couple’s appearance:
“This afternoon, The Prince and Princess of Wales attended a Garden Party at
Buckingham Palace, on behalf of The King.”
The message continued by highlighting the significance of the tradition:
“Historically, Garden Parties took the place of presentation parties attended
by debutantes, and have evolved into a way of recognising and rewarding public
service.”
The public endorsement follows a major milestone for the royal couple: their
recent inclusion in the 2025 TIME100 Philanthropy list, where they were
praised for modernising royal charity work. With increasing responsibilities,
William and Catherine continue to step confidently into a leading role within
the monarchy.
