Doubts Raised About Royal Reconciliation After Prince Harry’s Short Meeting with King Charles

Reunion lasted only 12 minutes as tensions escalate following Duke’s BBC interview and renewed royal disapproval

Fresh details have emerged about Prince Harry’s February 2024 meeting with King Charles, casting doubt on hopes of reconciliation between father and son. Once seen as a possible turning point after the King’s cancer diagnosis, the encounter now appears to have been far less significant than previously reported.

During a BBC interview, Harry expressed a desire to mend ties with his father. Yet, his criticism of the UK court’s security ruling—describing it as a “classic institution stitch-up”—alongside a comment on the King’s health, reportedly intensified tensions with the royal family.

Initially believed to have lasted around 30 minutes, the meeting was later revealed by royal author Lady Colin Campbell to have lasted just 12 minutes. Speaking to GB News, Campbell claimed that Harry flew to the UK without invitation and only informed the King’s staff of his arrival once he was already en route.

This revelation has resurfaced following Harry’s interview and is being seen as a key sign of how the royal household may continue to handle the Duke of Sussex. Reports suggest Prince William is prepared to resolve lingering matters—including the status of Harry and Meghan’s titles—once he takes the throne.

Lady Campbell added that few in the royal circle believed Harry’s actions were motivated by genuine concern, suggesting instead that he was attempting to remain visible in the public narrative.

Harry also remarked during the interview that the King “won’t speak to him because of the security stuff.” Royal insiders confirmed that Charles feels “betrayed” and remains unable to influence the security arrangements in question.

As tensions remain unresolved, the likelihood of another personal meeting between the King and his younger son appears increasingly slim.
