Palace Upset by Prince Harry’s Controversial Statements in BBC Interview

BBC Admits Mistake as Royal Rift Deepens Following Security Verdict Fallout

Buckingham Palace is reportedly furious over Prince Harry’s explosive BBC interview, with insiders claiming it has only intensified the already strained relationship between the Duke of Sussex and the rest of the royal family.

According to The Mail on Sunday, senior royal officials were outraged by Harry’s accusations in the interview, particularly his claim that his security removal was part of an “Establishment stitch-up.” The backlash grew so intense that the Palace, which rarely comments on personal matters, was compelled to issue a statement on the matter.

Insiders say officials also “railed against” the BBC for failing to challenge what they deemed “outrageous claims” made by the Duke. In response to the criticism, the broadcaster issued a rare admission of fault, acknowledging a “lapse” in editorial standards.

“Claims were repeated that the process had been ‘an Establishment stitch-up’ and we failed to properly challenge this and other allegations,” the BBC said, noting that they had also failed to reflect the Home Office’s official stance.

A government spokesperson further clarified that decisions regarding royal protection are made by RAVEC—an independent committee—not by the Home Secretary.

“All members work together to advise the independent chair on the protective security of the Royal Family and key public figures,” the spokesperson explained.

While Harry has expressed hopes for reconciliation, royal insiders say his latest public remarks have likely pushed him further from the fold, with trust and goodwill within the Palace now under serious strain.
