Meghan Markle Shares Reasons Behind Considering Scrapping Netflix Show

Duchess admits initial hesitation over sharing personal side in ‘With
Love, Meghan’

Meghan Markle has opened up about her surprising change of heart regarding her
latest Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, revealing the project nearly didn’t
come to life.

Speaking at the Time100 Summit on April 24, the Duchess of Sussex explained
she was initially reluctant to showcase her passion for homemaking. “I’ve
always loved to make things in my kitchen, do small flower arrangements, make
a lot of jam,” she shared, but admitted she didn’t see it as a show concept
until Netflix executive Bela Bajaria encouraged the idea.

“I hadn’t at the onset thought that was something I wanted to share in that
way,” Meghan said.

Despite her personal enthusiasm, the series received scathing reviews from UK
critics. The Telegraph labelled it a “two-star” effort, calling it “an
exercise in narcissism” and criticising its focus on lavish brunches,
celebrity appearances, and self-promotion.

Meghan also explained her decision not to film inside the Montecito home she
shares with Prince Harry and their two children. “I have kids coming home from
their nap, and 80 people in the kitchen isn’t really the childhood memory I’d
want for them to have,” she noted.

Still, the criticism didn’t stop the show’s branded lifestyle products from
flying off the shelves — they sold out within just 30 minutes of launch.
