Palace Releases Easter Update, Excludes Prince Andrew in Official Announcement

King Charles’ team signals quiet distancing amid public backlash over
Duke’s appearance

Buckingham Palace released an official update following the Royal Family’s
Easter Sunday service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, where King Charles and
Queen Camilla were joined by senior royals for the traditional gathering.

The palace shared candid photos of the occasion on the Royal Family’s social
media accounts, celebrating the annual Easter Matins service. However,
noticeably missing from both the images and the accompanying caption was
Prince Andrew, despite his attendance.

“The King and Queen were joined by other members of the Royal Family at St
George’s Chapel in Windsor today for the traditional Easter Matins service,”
read the post—conspicuously omitting the Duke of York.

The exclusion followed public surprise and concern after the disgraced Duke
made an unexpected appearance. Many questioned whether King Charles was
extending renewed support to his brother, who stepped back from public duties
amid scandal.

The decision to leave Andrew out of the official post appears to reaffirm that
tensions between the King and his brother persist privately, even as they
share public space at royal events.

Meanwhile, the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children were notably
absent, with Kensington Palace confirming ahead of time that they would remain
in Norfolk for a quiet family holiday.

Speculation has surfaced that Andrew was permitted to attend the service only
because the Prince of Wales would not be present, given William’s
well-documented stance of avoiding his uncle.
