Royal Fans Disappointed by Prince William and Catherine’s Easter Plans

Wales family to skip traditional service as they opt for private time in Norfolk

Royal fans have expressed disappointment following news that Prince William and Catherine will not attend the annual Easter Sunday service with the royal family this year.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to spend the Easter weekend privately at their Norfolk home, along with their children, choosing family time over the traditional Matins Service at Windsor Castle on April 20.

A royal source revealed that the couple, who also missed the service last year, “have decided to spend time together as a family before the children return to school.” Another insider shared that William had informed King Charles of their Easter plans, saying they intended to “enjoy some extended time as a family.”

Meanwhile, King Charles and Queen Camilla are set to lead the royal contingent at the service. Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, along with Duchess Sophie and Prince Edward, are expected to be in attendance.

Speculation continues over which non-working royals—such as Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall, and their daughters—might join the monarch for the occasion. Last year’s service saw a limited turnover due to ongoing royal health issues, with only a few senior family members present.

The Wales family’s absence from this year’s Easter gathering has left many royal watchers feeling disheartened, especially amid broader concerns about unity and visibility within the monarchy.
