Prince William has delivered an exciting announcement ahead of his brother
Prince Harry’s expected return to the UK, revealing that the 2025 Earthshot
Prize Awards will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
In a cheerful video message shared by Kensington Palace on social media, the
Prince of Wales expressed his enthusiasm for taking the environmental
initiative to South America. “2025 marks the midway point of the Earthshot
decade,” he said, praising the ongoing global efforts to combat climate
challenges. “Bringing the Earthshot Prize to Brazil, a nation rich in
biodiversity and environmental innovation, brings fresh momentum for new
ideas.”
He added, “It is an honour to profile the people making our world a better
place for us and for our children.”
The announcement, shared during the Prince’s family holiday, was accompanied
by a message that read, “Olá, Brasil! The Earthshot Prize is coming to Rio
this November!” It promised “big announcements, inspiring stories, and 15 new
incredible Finalists” set against the backdrop of Brazil’s natural beauty and
innovation.
The announcement comes just days before Prince Harry is expected to return to
the UK for a court appearance related to his ongoing legal battle over
security arrangements.
