Duchess of York echoes Queen’s passion for literacy in meaningful
statement
Sarah Ferguson has followed in the footsteps of Queen Camilla as she marked
World Book Day with a heartfelt message celebrating the power of storytelling.
The Duchess of York shared delightful throwback photos from her book launch
events, highlighting her love for literature and commitment to promoting
reading among all age groups.
Similarly, Queen Camilla marked the occasion by releasing a special video
message from a Buckingham Palace event, where she hosted the finalists of the
BBC 500 Words competition alongside their families and celebrity guests.
Sarah, who shares Camilla’s dedication to fostering a love of books, posted an
inspiring note on social media.
“Happy #WorldBookDay! Books have the power to transport us to new worlds,
spark imagination, and inspire a lifelong love of learning. Today we celebrate
the magic of storytelling and the joy that reading brings to people of all
ages,” she wrote.
Reflecting on her own journey as an author, she added:
“As an author, I’ve been privileged to write stories that encourage curiosity
and creativity, and one of my greatest joys is sharing them with children
around the world.”
Encouraging people of all ages to embrace reading, she concluded:
“Let today be a reminder of the joy of reading. Pick up a book, get lost in a
story, and celebrate the magic of words.”
Her message closely aligns with Queen Camilla’s ongoing efforts to champion
literacy, reinforcing their shared passion for the written word.
