Prince William continues to make significant strides in his role as Prince
of Wales, furthering a mission deeply connected to his late mother, Princess
Diana.
During a solo visit to a college boatbuilding course in Poole, designed to
support young people at risk of homelessness, William highlighted the impact
of partnerships that create life-changing opportunities.
Kensington Palace shared a video from the engagement at Millennium House,
featuring the inspiring story of Dan, a participant in the programme.
Dan, who now works laminating bulkheads and beams for superyachts, reflected
on how the initiative transformed his life. “It’s good, it’s more constructive
for me, and I’m glad to be adding to the workforce of the community,” he
shared.
The video was accompanied by a message from Kensington Palace:
“Stories like Dan’s really bring to life the power of the partnerships coming
together through @homewardsuk. At the launch of the Homewards programme, Dan
was experiencing homelessness and was unemployed. Now, thanks to newly created
employment pathways, Dan and others are gaining skills and opportunities. We
wish you all the best in your employment, Dan!”
Millennium House, an 11-bed mental health housing project, provides tailored
support plans to help residents transition toward independent living.
William’s visit followed his recent unveiling of Homewards Activator, a new
partnership aimed at developing housing solutions in the six areas where his
homelessness initiative operates. With his continued efforts, the Prince of
Wales remains committed to tackling homelessness and empowering vulnerable
communities.
